The Influence of Job Motivation, Perceived Organizational Support Indicators, and Demographic Characteristics on Job Satisfaction of Pharmaceutical Sales Executives in Nigeria

Abstract: Objectives: More pharmacy practice research has to be done investigate the impact of Perceived organizational support (POS), demographics, and Job motivation (JM) on satisfaction (JS) pharmaceutical sales executives (PSE) in marketing industry. The objectives study were evaluate predictive effects POS, JM, demographic attributes PSE JS. Secondly, explore relationship between POS indicators variables respondents. Methods: A crosssectional online survey 406 executives, conducted April May 2021 Nigeria using a random sampling method. Results: Correlations existed Age vs. Training Career prospects: Marital status Incentive-scheme Type company Work-tools availability, Training, Incentive-scheme, support, career Years experience Incentive, reward system, Annual salary worktools, Incentives, support. model met acceptable fit criteria. Overall score was 1.54±0.499, 1.37±0.484 respectively. mean rating ambivalent 5-point scale with 2.73 (SD=0.90), Motivation 2.49 (SD=0.95) indicative low JM. Aggregate (1.88±0.734) respondents’ perception industry poor (2.10±0.83). regression showed that had positive (β=0.606) compared (β=- 2.614), Reward system (β=-0.866), Work tools availability (β=-0.365), predictors JS at p<0.05. Conclusion: Study outcomes provided valuable human resource information policy reforms Key words: Demographics, satisfaction, motivation, Pharmaceutical Marketing, Nigeria, Management.
